Intro
Expanding a mobile ATM network to rural areas traditionally required heavy manual paperwork, physical site visits, and long processing times. This friction discouraged local sari-sari store owners and small business entrepreneurs from becoming digital banking partners. The objective was to build a streamlined, high-trust digital onboarding portal that made the journey from "interested merchant" to "live terminal" as fast as possible.

I directed the end-to-end design of the merchant onboarding portal, transforming a complex regulatory process into an intuitive digital experience.
The Process
The focus was on removing the "intimidation factor" of formal bank partnerships for grassroots business owners.
Guided Journey UX: Designed the onboarding flow as a series of simple, manageable steps with clear progress indicators to reduce user drop-off.
Mobile-First Accessibility: Prioritized a mobile-responsive design that accommodated merchants who primarily use their smartphones for business management.
Trust & Transparency: Built real-time status tracking into the portal so merchants could see exactly where they were in the approval and terminal deployment process.
